Case Study - IG

I.G., and independent, fifty plus woman, is a Marriage-Family Therapist with a practice in Berkley, California. She has three children, and ten grandchildren, and plans to retire within the next five to ten years.

- - -

I enjoy making a living and doing something I love, but in the past three years, I have been down-sizing my practice. My decision making has been based on simplifying my life.

I spoke with Aryeh because I wanted to investigate investments that would make retirement seem realistic. I have been in human services for many years, and I haven't paid much attention to the material part of my life.

With little money to invest, I needed to trust that Aryeh understood the big picture. I had to know that the options he offered were the best for me and that I could be proactive about my retirement.

Aryeh listened to my fears around making a bad decision. He explored my values and took that into consideration when developing my financial plan. I felt a complete integration between me and my finances.

He regularly coaches me in the intricacies of finance and has a wonderful support system. He made my plan incredibly efficient, and with plenty of room for my input. I liked it that Aryeh wasn't a hard sell and always answers all my questions with a lot of clarity. I have to say, he's dissolved many of myths I had heard in this area.

If I had to give one piece of advice to someone in my situation it would be this: Be honest with Aryeh about your fears and about how much you really have to work with. Listen to all the options, because he is really going to respond to you as an individual.

No matter what, Aryeh understands. I always feel supported in my decisions.

Case Study - SJ

SJ is a 39 year old, award-winning fine artist, living in the Midwest. He is married - his wife is a social worker - and has two young children. SJ feels privileged to be making a living working at something he is passionate about.

"I heard about Aryeh through a friend. I didn't like the way I was losing money until then, and I just wanted to do the right thing for my family and myself.

I feel that, since I don't know much about financial things, it's good to find somebody who does, and they'll guide me. It's like getting a good mechanic for my car. Sure, I could tinker, but he really knows.

I was hard at first just to find the time to sit down and deal with it. My wife really hates dealing with it. And - you know - we were nervous to discuss our finances with someone… it sends up red flags.

Aryeh brought us a lot of clarity on what we had and didn't have, and explained it to us, let us ask a lot of questions. One great thing is, he's always available and watching out for you.

As a freelance artist, there are a lot of uncertainties and you have to go with the flow. Aryeh understands that and helped us organize our finances. I think it helped that the whole team has such great phone voices and are very altruistic.

I'm really happy that my money is starting to work for me, and that I have a good team watching out for it. I've covered my family's need for protection and that's feels good.

Case Study - CB

CB is a warm and thoughtful single woman in her mid-sixties. She has two grown children and feels blessed to be working in a field she loves, psychotherapy:

I was recently divorced and had to deal with sizable assets and alimony. I really needed help organizing my current and future finances. Fortunately, a dear friend suggested I use Aryeh.

Right from the start, I was eager to work with Aryeh, and never had any anxieties about revealing my financial information. I think the two things that helped were trusting my friend, and respecting Aryeh’s strong spiritual beliefs.

It was huge that he always accepted my financial naivete and was tremendously patient with me. He’s not at all judgmental, and was really there for me in so many ways.

Aryeh is very unusual. He doesn’t just look after your basic finances. In my case, he got me a better mortgage, he worked with my lawyer and actually created a more comfortable resolution to my divorce.

The main thing he did, though, was review my finances and set a long term plan in place. It’s very reassuring to know that my retirement is in place. Even in this volatile market, my plan has enough integrity to withstand the fluctuations.

Aryeh was very persistent in getting me to tie up the loose ends financially. In the moment, it could be a pain, but when I was more centered, more objective, I saw it as a plus, exactly what I needed.

Another thing that is really valuable is his accessibility. Whenever I have a question or second thought, I just call and connect with him. Once, I was worried about a high risk investment a family member was recommending. Aryeh advised me not to invest, and it turned out he was better informed, more prudent. I trust his judgment. Because that is who he is. A warm, sincere guy who cares about you. He continues to amaze me.

I would encourage everyone to express all their anxieties to him, and be realistic about their budget. When they feel his intensity, hear it as genuine concern for their best interest.

"Aryeh is very friendly and down to earth"
